Feathers - A New Trend

Love. Love. Love.
This new hair trend makes me "oh, so happy."

While in Cali, I noticed an array of hair feathers and it slowly grew on me.
How ironic that I get a call today from my cousin, Bella, who was on her way to the salon to get her feathers!

This has been the norm in Brazil for quite some time, and I have always wanted to be able to do it here without turning too many heads.

Well wait, I live in the South...the land of boat shoes, Polo, and Vera Bradley.
Hm...I'm probably still going to get a few weird looks.

The cool thing about these all natural feathers is that they can be brushed, curled, and flat ironed. You do need a few tools if you are going to put them in yourself. Go to http://www.hairfeather.com/ to get an idea of feather and tool kit pricing.

But please people, do not go in your backyard and pick up a random bird feather to use in your hair. This would not be cool or sanitary. :)

Fashion Trend 2011 - Florals

If you haven't noticed already, go ahead and brace yourself for one of 2011's new trends - florals.

While I am a bit overwhelmed and overstimulated when I walk into a store that has already caught on to this trend, I do enjoy a pretty floral pattern.

If only these products were scratch and sniff, my life would be complete.

And, how dare I logically assume that Nike would not be taking part in this trend...
because they are.

Oh, and if I had an hour to spare, I would totally be giving myself this manicure.

Happy floral shopping!

Cross Body

It's been a while since I've gotten this excited about a purse.
Every girl has her "thing" that she just can't get enough of, and purses have never been it for me.
But, these new "hands free" cross body bags may just do it for me.
I love being able to run my errands without getting a sore arm from an oversized purse.
Being able to pull out my car keys while holding my ice water (that's right, not coffee) has seriously improved the way I start my day.
All this time, I thought I was clumsy.
Nope - it was the purse.

And, did I mention that you can find almost any color, fabric, shape, and size?
They are everywhere, and this is a fabulous thing.
Speaking of fabulous, check out a few of my faves below (I actually have the first one).

Get excited girls.
Have you heard of Essie?
If not, let me introduce you.
It's only the best nail polish available right now.
It only offers the coolest colors I've ever seen.
And, don't even get me started on how long your manis will last.
But, I'm not trying to sway you or anything. :)
Here are a few personal faves from this past fall and spring...
And I just can't wait to get my paws on these for the summer...

Fashionably Modest

I miss the days when wearing a modest one piece bathing suit was the norm.

Thankfully, the fashion world has realized that some of us still love a cute one piece.
Even better, they have mirrored modern suits after those of old.
Ah, I just love wearing a suit and feeling like I have time traveled from the 40's.
Seriously, I do.
For this reason, I'm in love with this suit from Shabby Apple.
But, oh my! How do you pick out just one, when there are so many styles and patterns?
Too many to choose from?
What a great problem to have.
One I have been wishing for for quite some time now.
Thank you fashion world.
